Review: Holy Grail Soap and Glory Products

For the last few months, I have been working as a digital ambassador for Soap and Glory through my university. For someone who loves beauty and has used Soap and Glory for years it was an absolute dream opportunity for me and one I couldn’t believe I was given. However, as the semester comes to an end, as does my current contract. To round it off and celebrate I thought I’d do a post on my absolute holy grail Soap and Glory products.

Smoothie Star Body Scrub

Soap and Glory do an amazing selection of body scrubs in all different scents and textures depending on your skin type and preference. My personal favourite is the Smoothie Star scrub which I have repurchased numerous times over the years. The sweet maple scent is almost good enough to eat and leaves the whole bathroom smelling amazing. I particularly love this scrub for removing fake tan and leaving my skin super soft. It has oats, shea butter and banana extracts which are fantastic for their moisturising properties and give it it’s mouth watering scent.

SugarCrush Body Buttercream

The scent of this range is my absolute favourite from S&G. It has strong notes of sweet lime which makes me feel so fresh after applying. I’ve went through tubs and tubs of this as my dry skin just soaks it up after the shower. Once again, all the body butters from Soap and Glory are amazing and super moisturising for the whole body.  Special shout out to my close second favourite the original Righteous Butter too – the mini version is my go to for holidays!

Peach Party Blush Brick

This little blusher is my go to for summer and has been for many years. It’s a very similar idea to the infamous Bobbi Brown shimmer bricks in terms of being made up of different tones which can work all together or separately on the face. I swirl my brush in the palette and apply to the apples of my cheeks for such a gorgeous peachy glow. The shimmer in the blush is finely milled but definitely packs a punch to just give a radiant and healthy appearance. The colours could also be used seperately on the eyes too, so a fantastic multi use cosmetic! I think this would look amazing on deeper skin tones also.

SolarPowder Bronzer

I wrote a whole post about my love affair with this little beauty. It’s the perfect bronzer for warming up my pale complexion and, as it has two different shades, would suit different skin tones and can be used for contouring too! You can read my post here.

SexyMotherPucker lipgloss in Nudestar

I love the whole SexyMotherPucker lipgloss range including the XL and XXL versions. However, if I had to choose my absolute number one it would Nudestar. It’s a perfect nude with just a hint of shimmer which gives you super full looking lips. I love layering this over nude lipsticks such as Mac’s VelvetTeddy or Kylie’s “Khlo$” to recreate the 90’s lip trend. The tingling properties these glosses are famed for is strangely enjoyable! This is a must have in my handbag.

Choosing my top 5 products was no easy feat as I love so many of the products from Soap and Glory. They’re a brand which celebrates and empowers females, which urges them to be fearless and make every moment in life a Kickass one. I feel so privileged to have been able to work with them and have loved writing the posts weekly and I hope you enjoyed them also!

Review: Get a Glow with SolarPowder

Bronzer holds such a nostalgia for me when I think back to my horrific makeup as a teen. When I first got into the ideal of being tanned and glowey I began using Rimmel’s then cult SunShimmer bronzer which left me looking more like a giant tangerine. God knows why I thought this was a good look but none the less I continued this JerseyShore-esque makeup for a good few years.

When I finally realised this orange glow was just not for me, I went on the hunt for a bronzer which was cool toned enough for my pale skin. Finding a good bronzer in the drugstore which fitted this bill a few years ago proved extremely tricky, but thankfully that’s where Solar Powder came in.

Left: New packaging, Right: previous (and clearly well loved!) packaging

The packaging has had a definite revamp from its old carboard exterior which I’m extremely glad of. Sturdy plastic packaging just holds up better in a jam-packed makeup bag and is so much less likely to break or get really grubby.

Regardless of the packaging, the bronzer is such a cult favourite for me. It’s only available in one shade however within the new sleek packaging there is two different tones of bronzer. The left side is a warmer bronze shade and the right is a cooler, lighter bronze tone. The colours can be used together or seperately which makes it such a fantastic bronzer for holidays or travelling.

I tend to use my Real Techniques powder brush and sweep over both colours for a lovely glow to my sun shy skin. I also have used the cooler tone to contour with when I’m at my palest as it gives more of a shadow affect to the skin rather than a harsh orange line. I particuarly love doing this on holiday and during the warmer months when I’m tan free. The colours are also great transition colours in the crease of the eye too!

The “S&G” logo does come with a subtle shimmer to it but I found mines has worn away after just a few uses, which I actually prefer. This then allows me to get a nice sunkissed natural glow from the bronzer rather than a more shimmery offering.

I highly recommend SolarPowder to anyone, especially those fair skinned, looking for a new bronzer which wont break the bank this summer!

Review: Soap & Glory The Mighty Contourer

Contouring has been a huge makeup trend over the past few years, with the likes of the Kardashians and Beyonce rocking super sharp faux-cheekbones. However, it’s super easy to end up with less of a shapely contour and more of a terracota line down your cheek.

Soap & Glory have launched a super cute little 3 in 1 contour kit designed to make the whole process a lot easier, which I decided to put to the test.

In the compact, you have three cream products:

Darker shade to add definition in the hollows of the cheeks, along the hairline and under the jaw bone.

A highlight shade to lift and add light to under the eyes/tops of cheekbones and forehead.

Blush shade to add a flush of healthy colour and glow.

The compact comes with a small leaflet which has pictures and guidance of where to apply all the colours which would be fantastic for beginners!

I use the shade “Fair’s Fair” however in all honesty the contour colour would still be fantastic for medium skin tones also.

Contour, blush and highlight shades on my fair skin.

I simply apply the products with my fingers, and then use a beauty blender to blend them out.

The contour colour is great as its not too warm yet not too cool. Its super blendable which makes it hard to go wrong with it, and it can be built up easily. The blush shade has actually become my firm favourite from the compact for adding a super healthy flush to my cheeks on a day to day basis. I was a bit sceptical about the highlight shade as I usually reach for a super shimmery shade however I did like the brightness this added to my skin.

Overall, I’m really impressed with the contour kit. Ive never tried a whole cream kit like this before from the drugstore and for the pricepoint I think it is great. As it’s so blendable, it’s also great for everyday use!

If you fancy winning a full size The Mighty Contourer in “Fair’s Fair” to try yourself, head over to my Instagram here to find out how!

You can buy The Mighty Contourer from Boots for £12.
